It can be hard to ask for help when you need it, especially when it’s for something as personal as your hearing health.
Have you noticed that you can’t follow conversations as easily as you used to? Perhaps you’ve started avoiding answering the phone or are finding that you have to put the volume on the TV all the way up.
While these seemingly small changes in your lifestyle can get you through the day, eventually you may find that you just aren’t enjoying your life as much anymore. But even then it can be difficult to get yourself to a hearing aid specialist for the care and treatment you need. Thankfully with Hearing Aid Concierge, your mobile hearing test provider, you don’t need to.
You are not alone
There are many reasons why getting out to a hearing care center can be difficult. We all face different challenges and it’s important to remember that you aren’t the only one who maybe struggling to get the help you need.
Perhaps physical difficulties make even a short trip out a challenge and you don’t have a hearing care center close by. Or maybe hearing loss has left you feeling down, isolated or less confident about going outside. It could even be that you aren’t ready for people to know that you need help with your hearing and walking into a hearing care center sounds too much like advertising your hearing health issues.
Whatever your reasons, Hearing Aid Concierge is here to get your hearing health back on track by providing a hearing test for you in the comfort of your own home. Our hearing aid specialist, Wendy Meyer-Eberhard has spent over 20 years helping people to hear better and her professional, caring approach will put you right at ease when you get your hearing test.
What does a home hearing test involve?
A home hearing test is the same as a hearing test you would receive at a hearing care center. It is just as accurate and comprehensive.
It starts with a simple chat. Wendy will ask you about your life, including your medical history, past and present jobs, as well as any hobbies or interests you have. This will help Wendy get to know you and your hearing requirements.
Next comes a quick and completely painless physical examination of your ears to check the health of your eardrums and outer ear, look for any signs of damage and also see if there is anything blocking your ear canal, such as wax build-up.
The final part is all about testing your hearing ability. Wendy will give you headphones to wear and then play different sounds to one or both ears. All you need to do is press a button when you hear a sound. This is then repeated with you wearing a headband instead of headphones.
And that’s it. Your hearing test is complete and the results are instant.
Talking through the results
Wendy will explain all of the results of your hearing test, making sure you understand everything. If the results show that you do have hearing loss, Wendy will give you all your options for treatment. If hearing aids are the best option, she’ll help you choose the right ones for your budget, lifestyle and hearing needs.
